Netflix done fucked up with the Death Note movie. Like I like Nat Wolff but it’s a fucking Japanese show/ manga. There are PLENTY of talented Japanese actors/actresses. I mean if you didn’t white wash the film it would save you the trouble of having to change the characters’ names. Light Turner??? Come on. Jesus. Although… Ryuk’s thing looked cool. However, his name probs won’t be Ryuk in the movie. Probably I’ll be something like Rance or Robert. And he probs won’t be referred to as a Shinigami. Way to fuck it up Netflix.
Sasuke was never portrayed as a f*ckboy in canon. He was initially this guy that attracted a lot of people from his looks to his talent and also because he was part of the Uchiha clan. Being portrayed as popular between girls/boys is not the same.
Sasuke is one of the most (if not, the most) purest characters in the manga when it comes to relationships –either romantic, friendly or brotherly–, and the only people he showed interest during the whole series was Itachi and Team 7.
And if we use that word to define Sasuke there might be something wrong with your interpretation of his character. Yes, he had a lot of fangirls but he never intended something with them or never really cared about them. Sasuke is a character that develops emotional bonds with selected peope who can understand his feelings and/or make him feel better.
It’s true that in Gaiden, and according to what Kishi wanted people to believe at first —just take a look at how Naruto, Suigetsu or even Sarada doubted Sasuke’s fidelity—, then you have again Sasuke’s reaction and confusion at some attitudes his daughter and bestfriend were having during the whole spin-off.
In the end just one girl in the manga received a romantic gesture from him, opposed at what that word represents. I’m pretty sure that can be sustained by Naruto Part I/II and Gaiden.
Sasuke has literally been described as “pure”. His counterpart in Road To Ninja is a playboy [meaning, the total opposite of how he is]. During the entire manga he’s probably the one character who never reacted to a nude female or similar situations with a distinctively attracted/sexual reaction. In the Gaiden, he literally told his daughter that the reason she was born was because he and her mother’s feelings were very deeply connected. This is a man who regards sex as an act of love and respect, not as something to fool around with and flaunt; not as something trivial and meaningless. He’s literally never even aknowledged his good looks or attempted to use those natural charms of his – he never cared that people found him attractive or complimented him on his looks.
Either these folks don’t understand what a f*ckboy is, or they honestly have no clue about Sasuke’s character…and I highly suspect the latter, given the things I’ve read here on tumblr about him.
